Exceptional People Deserve Exceptional Staff

About the School

Livability Victoria School is an exciting, innovative, and dynamic place. Part of the national charity, Livability, the School is one of three education settings that form the Livability Education Directorate. It is day School offering specialised, high-quality care and therapy for young disabled people from 3-19 years old with a range of complex physical and learning needs, including ASC.

About the Role

We are now seeking a values-based leader with the motivation to delve deep into meeting the needs of learners and staff to support the delivery of world-class education for children with special needs.

This is the ideal job for an experienced leader who enjoys the detail of running a complex educational establishment as part of a larger organisation, and with the support of a national team to grow the provision and build leadership capacity across the school. The school is based on a large site with an integrated forest school and provides excellent opportunities for developing on-site enterprise activities using a range of polytunnels and a small café area.

You will report to the Director for Education who is keen to extend the provision in the area and have an opportunity to work as part of a team of Headteachers on expansion of the Directorate both within the Dorset/BCP area and nationally.

The site itself offers development opportunities and the ideal candidate will have a clear vision for how Victoria School can again become Victoria Education Centre offering specialist provision for a wide range of learner needs. You will oversee one area from the Ofsted framework across the Directorate including supporting quality assurance activities across Livability.

About You

You will be a solution focused, highly organised yet creative leader, with a thorough understanding of the SEND code of practice and recent experience of inspection in a Good or Outstanding setting. With proven experience at a Deputy Headteacher or Headteacher level, you will be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the independent sector, a track record of high-quality outcomes, the ability to inspire and motivate teams and manage financial budgets.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking to develop a long-term career in one of the most beautiful parts of the country working with an outstanding staff team.

The Package:

We offer a competitive salary and an attractive package that includes:

  • Support for CPD – Livability supports professional development through personalisation of opportunity for all staff including coaching and/or support for further study or training.
  • Flexible opportunities – we offer one day a week home working for headteachers plus the opportunity to tailor your work-life balance to meet the needs of your life outside school.
  • A relocation allowance may be available to candidates relocating from outside the Dorset/Bournemouth area.
