The Department for Transport (DfT) supports the transport network that helps UK citizens, businesses, goods and services travelling around the country. The Department sponsors a broad range of Public Bodies that deliver vital public services, invest taxpayers’ money and manage significant risks. As Deputy Director Public Appointments & Public Bodies Centre of Excellence, you will provide inspiring, strategic leadership to two teams which are vital to ensuring the continued success of the Department’s Public Bodies. The Public Appointments Team leads the Ministerial appointments of Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) and Chairs to the boards of all the Department’s Public Bodies and Agencies, whilst the Public Bodies Centre of Excellence facilitates an in-house corporate sponsorship and governance consultancy, and development offer to enhance the collective capability of DfT- wide sponsor and shareholder teams.
