The Sigma Trust is a local partnership of academies in North East Essex. Sigma was formally established in September 2016 and has grown to become the largest multi-academy trust working solely within Essex. We have recently expanded to take on two additional primary schools and now consist of eight secondary schools, one primary, two junior schools and an infant and nursery school and an Initial Teacher Training Scheme. We have over 11,000 pupils, approximately 1600 staff and an annual income of over £50 million. Our initial teacher training scheme, North Essex Teacher Training (NETT), trains over 60 primary and secondary NQTs each year.
Throughout this period of rapid expansion, we have continued to put our vision and values at the heart of everything we do. The Trust’s mission to be ‘Greater Than The Sum Of Its Parts’ drives our commitment to the concept of a MAT as a family of schools working collaboratively with, and supporting, each other to ensure that no child is left behind.
We are now seeking an exceptional individual to join us as Chief Executive Officer. This is a demanding but highly rewarding role that will lead the Trust towards the next stage of its development. Working closely with our knowledgeable and committed Board of Trustees and in partnership with a range of internal and external stakeholders, you will lead our academies to deliver strong and improving outcomes and outstanding provision. You will ensure that we continue to pursue our aim of enhancing the educational experience of children in the community and to become a centre of educational excellence and innovation within the area.
You will be an inspirational and empathetic leader who can wholeheartedly embrace the vison and values of the Sigma Trust and will empower others to do the same. With a highly collaborative approach, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and the determination to make a positive difference, you will have a track record of delivering a strategic vision that drives a culture of continuous improvement and ensures the highest possible achievement for all. You will be highly accomplished at developing professional networks and partnerships, have a clear understanding of the current education landscape, strong financial acumen and proven ability to manage risk effectively.
