Veredus is exclusively retained by Chiltern Railways to recruit a dynamic Fleet Commercial Manager — a strategic and analytical leader with a passion for engineering, performance, and partnership.
This is a pivotal opportunity to join one of the UK’s most respected Train Operating Companies during a period of significant modernisation and transformation.
💡 The Role
The Fleet Commercial Manager will be responsible for managing complex MkV maintenance contracts, ensuring commercial performance, technical compliance, and long-term value for money.
You’ll work closely with engineering, finance, and operational teams to align commercial strategy with operational success.
Key responsibilities:
💼 Lead contract management and supplier performance for MkV fleet maintenance.
💼 Negotiate and manage key supplier relationships to drive cost efficiency and service reliability.
💼 Provide commercial insight and governance across engineering projects.
💼 Identify and implement opportunities for performance improvement and value creation.
👤 The Person
You’ll bring a blend of commercial acumen and engineering understanding, with the confidence to challenge and influence across departments.
Essential skills & experience:
• 5–8+ years’ experience in contract or commercial management within rail, rolling stock, or a related engineering sector.
• Proven track record in supplier relationship management and cost optimisation.
• Strong analytical mindset, adaptable approach, and collaborative working style.
• A Rosco background or similar experience would be a strong advantage.
