Veredus

How confident are you in your organisation’s leadership capability?

Leadership is one of the biggest determinants of organisational performance, yet leadership risk is rarely assessed with the same rigour as financial, operational or strategic risk.

The Veredus Leadership Risk Index has been developed to help senior leaders take a structured look at the leadership environment within their organisation – identifying areas of strength, potential vulnerabilities and where greater focus may be needed.

What does leadership risk look like?

Leadership risk isn’t always obvious.

It can emerge when succession plans haven’t kept pace with organisational change. When accountability becomes unclear. When leadership teams have the right individual capability but aren’t working effectively together. Or when the organisation’s future ambitions require different leadership capabilities from those that got it to where it is today.

Understanding these factors early gives organisations a stronger basis for making decisions about leadership, capability and future readiness.

The Leadership Risk Index provides a structured way to do that.

What does the Index explore?

The assessment considers the factors that contribute to an effective and resilient leadership environment, exploring areas including:

  • Strategic clarity
How effectively leadership understands, communicates and aligns around organisational direction.
  • Governance & decision-making
Whether structures, accountability and decision-making enable effective leadership.
  • Leadership capability
Whether the organisation has the leadership capability required to deliver its current and future priorities.
  • Culture & behaviours
How leadership behaviours shape culture, trust and organisational effectiveness.
  • Talent & succession
How effectively the organisation identifies, develops and plans for future leadership requirements.
  • Change readiness
Whether leaders and leadership structures are equipped to navigate change and transformation.
  • Delivery & accountability
How effectively leadership translates strategy into action and maintains accountability for outcomes.
  • Collaboration & communication
How effectively leaders work across organisational boundaries and communicate with their people.

What will you receive?

By completing the Leadership Risk Index, you’ll gain a structured view of your organisation’s leadership environment and the areas that may warrant greater attention.

Participants will receive a confidential summary of their results, highlighting leadership strengths, potential areas of risk and priorities for consideration.

Anonymised responses will also contribute to a wider picture of leadership capability and risk across organisations and sectors, enabling Veredus to identify emerging trends and develop meaningful benchmarks.

Individual responses and organisations will not be identified within any published findings.

Who should complete it?

The Leadership Risk Index is designed to capture perspectives from across an organisation – not just from those in leadership roles.

Anyone can take part, regardless of role, function or level of seniority. By gathering views from people with different experiences of leadership, the Index can build a more rounded picture of how effectively leadership is understood, experienced and demonstrated across an organisation.

Where multiple people from the same organisation participate, responses can also help identify differences in perception across seniority levels and functions – providing valuable insight into where leadership experience is aligned and where potential gaps may exist.
