​Veredus is delighted to be supporting the Scottish Funding Council with the appointment of an interim Finance Director. The Scottish Funding Council (SFC) is the national, strategic body that is responsible for funding teaching and learning provision, research and other activities in Scotland's 26 colleges and 19 universities and higher education institutions.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the role is to start at the end of September/beginning of October, 2021 with a short handover period with the outgoing Finance Director. The interim engagement will be for an initial period of up to 6 months whilst the Scottish Funding Council recruits a permanent replacement. The role will be mostly remote working.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a strong track record of managing and accounting for the sound distribution of large multi-million level budgets in a public sector context. Candidates should ideally have past experience of working in a senior finance post within the college or university sectors though applications from those with senior public service experience, particularly in relation to government funding, are also welcome.

The successful interim can expect a pro rata salary to £105,000 per annum depending on experience. A competitive day rate option (inside IR35) will also be considered.
