Head of Asset Management

Manage the production of specifications and acceptance criteria for engineering works for all aspects of investment to achieve the required scope and quality in accordance with asset policies. Provide comprehensive engineering support service to Maintenance, focussed on the clients delivery units.1. Lead the development of the clients specific plans, including all maintenance, renewal and investment activity and monitor to confirm they are appropriate to deliver compliant output targets. Lead the development and management of the associated prioritised work bank and the inclusion of all investment items into appropriate programmes. Determine and advise on the implications if work is not undertaken in the recommended time-frame.2. Monitor asset management plans to confirm that they are appropriate to deliver the data required to formulate an optimised asset management/renewals plan. Agree maintenance and data collection activity volumes with delivery unit teams.3. Sponsor asset renewals schemes, unless specific other arrangements have been made. Review investment papers for compliance to agreed requirements and participate in funding negotiations.4. Work with other members of the Infrastructure teams to review renewal and enhancement proposals to optimise engineering activity across the railway infrastructure system and resolve critical technical problems.5. Manage the asset management aspects of renewal and enhancement schemes to meet the clients goals in accordance with company asset policies and standards from project inception to transfer to delivery. Check that completed schemes are appropriately assessed to determine they meet the project remit.6. Manage the specification of acceptance criteria for engineering works including design approval, acceptance of equipment and hand back to maintenance as appropriate. Where necessary check that the acceptance processes are being discharged.7. Act as engineering authority for asset management deliverables associated with renewal and enhancement activities unless formally delegated to others.
