The Department for Student and Library Services was recently created to advance this ambitious vision more effectively.

We are now looking for the new Director of Student and Library Services to lead on transformational change for the new department, inspiring its multidisciplinary teams to deliver an excellent student experience. The successful individual will maintain the high standards already reached within the Library, whilst developing Student Services towards a more proactive model, ensuring the two elements work together to achieve an integrated vision. Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Learning and Teaching, the new Director of Student and Library Services will play a key role in the development of an Access and Participation Plan, and be heavily involved in University-wide projects, including Strategic and Transformational Change Projects.

You will be an outstanding senior leader with a successful track record within the Higher Education library or student services function. A strategic thinker, you will have experience of significantly contributing to the development of access and partnerships plans. You will have demonstrable ability to provide effective leadership to diverse groups of professional staff, embedding external professional best practices to improve performance. The ability to command the confidence of very senior stakeholders and to develop successful collaborative links, both internally and externally, with strong communication and influencing skills are essential for this role.
