Competitive Salary

Founded in 1796 as a place of ‘useful learning’, the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow is a leading international technological university proud to deliver world class education, pioneering research and innovative partnerships around the globe. As a socially progressive institution, we focus on impact, pioneering technologies not just for their own sake but because they help society economically, in its health, quality of life and its creativity. We have a track record of partnering with businesses, reaching outside the University to make the world better educated, prosperous, healthy, fairer and more secure. As a result of this, we were recognised by Times Higher Education as Workplace of the Year in 2017, Business School of the Year in 2016, Entrepreneurial University of the Year in 2013 and, in 2012, we were their UK University of the Year.

We are now seeking an exceptional individual to lead the University’s Finance Directorate as we look forward to an exciting Vision for Strathclyde 2025. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, who also leads the University’s Estates and Information Services functions, you will be a key member of the University’s Leadership Group and will play an important role in shaping the University’s finance strategy to ensure continuing organisational success and growth. You will be responsible for managing all operational aspects of the Finance Directorate, driving progressive change in financial control, reporting and in financial systems. Professionally qualified and with an exceptional track record in financial management and business transformation, you will have substantial leadership experience and a proven ability in delivering against challenging targets and of achieving excellence in service delivery. With exceptional communication and influencing skills and a passion for continuous improvement, you will demonstrate the ability and drive to lead and improve a highly professional team as part of a dynamic, fast moving University with an ambitious vision and growth trajectory.
