Teesside University recognises the vital pathway that apprenticeships provide for young people seeking to enter the world of work, and the positive impact they can have in meeting the needs of employers and regional economic priorities. We provide apprenticeships across a huge range of subjects from aerospace engineering to fashion, midwifery to computer games design, and all are specifically designed in partnership with employers and professional bodies. We are proud to be a provider of outstanding apprenticeships and one the first universities to receive a full Ofsted inspection for its level 5 apprenticeships rated as outstanding across the board.

We are now looking to appoint a Director of Apprenticeships. As a member of the senior management team, you will report into the Chief Operating Officer and will lead on the University’s apprenticeship offering ensuring growth in numbers and revenue and high-quality delivery of Higher and Degree Apprenticeships for Teesside. You will set clear strategic direction and will foster strong strategic relationships with external partners and agencies, whilst supporting colleagues across the University in relation to apprenticeship activities linked to the University’s strategies and targets.

This is a unique opportunity, and we are seeking an individual with the energy, drive and vision to help us achieve our high aspirations for apprenticeship provision. You will be an outstanding senior leader with an excellent commercial track record of growing student numbers and developing apprenticeships that comply fully with regulatory requirements. Your strong ability to get out across sectors and build collaborative networks to influence future development in apprenticeships and shape best practice will be critical.
