The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) is a major government department, at the heart of the justice system. Our vision is to deliver a world-class justice system that works for everyone in society. Our four strategic priorities to deliver our vision are: a prison and probation service that reforms offenders; a modern courts and justice system; a Global Britain that promotes the rule of law; and a transformed department that is simpler, smarter and more unified.
We work to bring the principles of justice to life for everyone in society. From our civil courts, tribunals and family law hearings, to criminal justice, prison and probation services. From seeing that sentences are served, and offenders are encouraged to turn their lives around and become law-abiding citizens, to keeping the public safe. From safeguarding victims and the vulnerable to regulating our legal services. We believe the principles of justice are pivotal and we are steadfast in our shared commitment to uphold them.
The Data and Analytical Services Directorate (DASD) is looking to deliver radical improvements across Justice. DASD is a multi-disciplinary team of around 400 staff. We are looking to make major changes to how we work, with an emphasis on collaboration, flexibility and agreeing a longer-term plan with our partners across Ministry of Justice. We are restructuring with these 3 roles playing key roles in our new approach and are looking to appoint outstanding analytical leaders who can lead this ambitious change programme and work with stakeholders across the very highest levels of government.
You will bring a successful track record within one of the four analytical professions: statistics, operational research, social research or economics. Experience of change management within complex and multi matrixed stakeholder environments is essential. Alongside this, you will have experience of dealing with a range of issues that require strong strategic and analytical skills; to use evidence to inform and support decision making in a complex policy and challenging operational context. Likewise, you will have experience of leading, motivating and developing a diverse team to deliver a brilliant service as well as with a strong track record of building capability and developing people.
This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in the MoJ’s data revolution and to help transform the way it delivers on its mission of national importance.
All applications are welcome and any applications received from applicants wishingto job-share or work reduced hours will be considered fairly and objectively against business need and in line with MoJ’s commitment to diversity andinclusion. Wherever business delivery allows, such alternative working patterns will be considered.
