The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) is responsible for the vital work of decommissioning 17 complex nuclear sites across the United Kingdom, changing the UK’s nuclear legacy into a positive environmental one.
Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd (DSRL) is responsible for the safe and secure clean-up and demolition of the Dounreay site in northern Scotland.For more than 50 years it was known as the centre of the UK’s fast reactor research and development and is now a centre of excellence for nuclear decommissioning. It is widely recognised as Europe’s most complex nuclear closure programme, and the experimental nature of many of its redundant facilities means the clean-up and demolition requires innovation and the use of cutting-edge technology. Our mission is to decommission Dounreay in a safe and timely manner and leave a positive legacy for future local generations. We are working closely with a range of stakeholders to support the creation of new employment opportunities in the area to mitigate the economic impacts of the decommissioning.
As part of the strategic plan to build a strong and cohesive NDA group – “One NDA”, DSRL ownership will transfer to the NDA from the Cavendish Dounreay Partnership, a consortium of Cavendish Nuclear, Jacobs and Amentum, in March 2021.
We are now looking to recruit a Commercial Director to lead and be accountable for all commercial activities at DSRL.The successful candidate will be an individual with a successful track record as a senior procurement professional. Additionally, candidates will need to demonstrate a successful senior leadership track record,experience of continuous improvement, team management and development, and outstanding interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills. Integral to all is the desire to play a positive and active part in a vibrant local community.
