The Department for International Trade (DIT) is an international economic department whose mission is to enable the UK to trade its way to prosperity, stability and security by helping businesses export, securing inward and outward investment, opening up markets, and championing free trade. Our Export Strategy sets out how government will support businesses of all sizes to make the most of the opportunities presented by markets around the world, ensuring that Britain becomes a global leader in free trade following our recent departure from the European Union (EU). This is a crucial time for us as the UK establishes an independent trade policy for the first time in over 40 years.

Reporting to our Chief Operating Officer, the Change Director will oversee a portfolio of change activity that will support the development and implementation of DIT’s future operating model. This will require close working with other Government Departments. This is a key senior role and will involve working with Ministers, the Permanent Secretary and other vital stakeholders in DIT and across Whitehall. The Change Director is a role at the heart of the department that will positively bind teams and individuals together.

We are looking for someone with experience of leading change in an environment of complexity and at times ambiguity. You will have a proven track record in delivering an agenda that combines intellectual challenge and a high degree of complexity. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to build strong stakeholder relationships at pace across all levels in the organisation. A champion for change, you inspire and motivate others to take positive action.
