Are you an exemplary leader who’s got what it takes to develop effective safeguarding quality work that improves the outcomes for vulnerable children and young people in Herefordshire?
We’ve created this new role in the Council to lead the safeguarding quality and improvement work to achieve “good” and consistent standards of performance and practice. This includes leadership of our principal social worker, our social work academy, both the children’s and adults safeguarding boards and our community safety partnership.
Reporting to the Director for Children’s and Families, we’re looking for a seasoned, senior qualified social worker with a track record of embedding practice improvement to play a key role in delivering our improvement plan and wider Children’s and Families strategy.
We’re investing heavily in both our social workers and preventative services, and you can also expect a huge level of support from Chief Officers and Elected Members. Much has already been achieved in a short period of time, so you will be joining us at a time where you can shape and influence the future based on solid practice and leadership.
As a council, we’re relatively small but, we think, perfectly formed. We consider ourselves as a team of 1,279 staff and we’re proud to say that people who come here consistently comment on the warm welcome they receive. We’re recognised as ‘punching above our weight’ and part of the beauty of our size is the ability to get things to done, often in creative and innovative ways.
If you think you have what it takes, we’d love to hear from you. Join us on our journey to help make Herefordshire a great place for our children and young people.
