Veredus appoints new associate partner

Veredus today announced the appointment of Brenda Bignold as Associate Partner. She takes up her post in November and will join the company’s highly successful public services practices with a particular focus on children’s services.

Brenda has a wealth of experience in the education, local government and not-for-profit sectors. She was previously Corporate Director of Education Services for Northamptonshire County Council and formerly Education and ICT Director of Partnership for Schools.

At a national level, Brenda has been the lead on Local Government Association activity around the Education and Inspections Act 2006. She worked with a multi-agency lobby group, national charities and the Office of the Children’s Commissioner to secure changes in national guidance and regulation affecting the children’s services agenda.

She also worked with organisations to ensure that the significant Government capital investment in Building Schools for the Future was used to underpin ambitious change programmes to benefit children and communities. Brenda continues to support the National College of School Leadership with policy advice.

Brenda is well known for her passionate interest in children’s services and has recently supported a number of local authorities in developing their capability and infrastructure in this area. Brenda commented: “I couldn’t be more excited about my new role. It gives me a tremendous opportunity to find and nurture talent and to help build capability and capacity in an area that is critical to improving the life chances of young people. I’m looking forward to the challenge of working within a commercial environment, developing new skills, and the opportunity to work with a highly motivated and talented team at Veredus.”

Roger Russell, Managing Partner at Veredus commented: “We are delighted that Brenda will be joining us. We are continuously looking for the kind of experience and talent that she brings and I’m sure she will make a big impact. She is joining us at an exciting time of growth for the company. She will be a real asset in helping us deliver the range and quality of people solutions our clients need”.
