Veredus appoints central government associate

Veredus has appointed John Barker, a former director of the Talent Directorate and Corporate Development Group at the Cabinet Office as an associate. He will advise on senior central government appointments.

Before joining Veredus, John was with the Cabinet Office in senior roles for 13 years. During this time, he was involved in civil service reform programmes as well as senior level induction and transition programmes. In his most recent role, he was secretary to the senior appointments selection committee. John also oversaw the high potential development scheme and fast stream recruitment. Prior to this, he held senior personnel roles within HM Treasury and the Civil Service Commission.  John was awarded the CB (Companion of the Order of the Bath) in 2003.

“Veredus is particularly attuned with the Civil Service in their approach to senior level recruitment which made my decision to move from the public sector to a commercial organisation actually very easy, commented John Barker. “I’m looking forward to working with Veredus to further develop its central government services.”

Roger Russell, Managing Partner at Veredus commented: “We’re delighted John has joined us as an associate. John’s thorough understanding of recruitment and talent management and extensive senior level civil service experience will further enhance Veredus’ ability to deliver the best executive recruitment service to central government.”
