ASSIGNMENT SUMMARY

Description of role:
Main purpose of the role
To lead and manage the Council’s Corporate HR Service.
To be the lead HR professional for the Council.
To play and full and active part in the Directorate Management Team and the Council’s Corporate Strategic Management Leadership Team – leading and supporting a broad range of projects and initiatives across Human Resources, the Directorate and the Council as a whole.
To lead the HR support to deliver strategic developments, to contribute to the Council’s Service Improvement Programme:-
• Implementation of a new pay and grading structure
• Performance Management and Performance Related Pay
• Integrating management information systems
• Creation of an Organisational Development Unit
• Review of working styles to accommodate the new build of the Council Civic Centre
To raise the profile of the value and contribution of Human Resources to support and deliver the goals, priorities and transformational actions of the Corporate Plan, Directorates and departmental business plans.
To develop strong, effective and positive relationships with partners.
INTERIM MANAGEMENT SPECIFICATION
