Director of Development Eco Towns

This Midlands based district council has an immediate requirement for an Interim Advisor to oversee the programme for their Eco Town development. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive this role is supported by a project Manager and administrator.

Key responsibilities include:

Overseeing the programme for Eco Towns on a day to day basis
Supporting the Chief Executive on member, partnership and staff groups
Managing the risks of the Eco Town programme on behalf of the Council
Continuing to develop external partnerships
Co-ordinating a response and input to the CLG Eco Town National Policy development
Resource assessment of programme and delivery


The successful candidate will have worked at Director level with a background in regeneration, planning or economic development. Political awareness and sensitivity is essential as is the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally.
