Blackpool and the Fylde Coast is a fascinating and challenging place with a highly visible brand and huge potential for future growth and evolution. The foundations are in place to transform Blackpool into a great place to visit and live and extensive progress has been made, but a lot more needs to be done to ensure successful delivery. Our plans are ambitious and to influence the long term sustainability of Blackpool we need to capitalise on all our physical, social and economic opportunities with an experienced and transformational leadership team.

You will report directly into the Chief Executive, who believes passionately that the policy team can and should provide the catalyst for change and improvement throughout the Council. With a team of 25 staff comprising policy and communications professionals, you will need to be a strong and charismatic leader. Excellent communication, political nous and influencing skills are essential as you must be capable of building strong working relationships with our partners, internal and
external, combining energy and enthusiasm with a desire to make a real difference.
