Case study: A tough challenge

The Challenge

Our client was a high-profile education organisation, and they set us a tough challenge.

The requirement was for a senior ICT executive, with highly specific skills and experience, against a very tight deadline.

Our Solution

Our client’s need was for someone able to ‘hit the ground running’, which means only candidates with the right level of seniority will fit the bill, coupled with the need for a quick start - which rules out those already engaged on other contracts.

This is a familiar combination for us, and it is why we invest so much in our network of interims.

We maintain one of the largest, most up-to-date and comprehensive databases in the business – but our network is much more than that.

Every interim manager we work with has been rigorously assessed by us, and we lead the industry in keeping in touch with our people. For example, during contracts, we maintain regular progress reports and meetings between ourselves, the interim and our client.

The Result

Quite simply, this means we carry a greater depth of knowledge about a larger number of potential candidates than our competitors.

With this resource at our client’s disposal, we provided a shortlist and comprehensive briefing and reference notes on each candidate (as we always do).

Interviews were scheduled straightaway with those candidates selected by our client, and, within ten days of the client first contacting us, one of our interims was appointed.

Contracts were exchanged and four days later the interim started the assignment – the whole process had taken under three weeks.

Initially retained for four months, such was the impact of our interim within the organisation that the contract was extended for a further six months – an increasingly regular occurrence for Veredus Interim Management.
